“This is an elite law enforcement agency. We expect all our employees to demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism. The director must set the example for all employees in their workplace communications." -- Allan Polunsky, chairman of the Texas Public Safety Commission
Col. Clark took over the reins at the DPS in September 2008 after when Col. Tommy Davis retired after a fire caused severe damage to the governor's mansion -- which is under the eagle-eyed watch of the DPS.
Col. Clark will leave the department on May 31, 2009, though he has already been relieved of duty.
This is the same elite law enforcement agency that is in charge of the alcohol breath testing program and yet not only can they not police their own technical supervisors, they allowed someone to set fire to the governor's mansion right under their noses and they just canned a director who didn't have enough sense to act like a grown man around female employees.
How much confidence do you now have in that little black box?
